St. Paul Underground at Palawan (sabang)
St Paul Cave -- is Palawan's most fascinating network of caves. Carved out by an underground river, the cave meanders for over eight km. Nature has provided it with a bewildering variety of enormous stalactites, fragile-looking columns, smooth-walled pipes, jagged caverns and big, impressive chambers. The entrance to the Underground River is set in a picturesque lagoon on the west coast of Central Palawan. You could almost overlook this deeply fissured, yawning opening in the grey limestone face, through which you can enter the dark maw of the cave in small paddle bancas/pumpboat. The light of the lamps reveals coutless bats in the cave. You would need a powerful flash to take photographs here.
